UN Environment and EbA - Briefing Note 7

United Nations Environment Programme ; United Nations Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (2019)

UN Environment has a strong history of supporting the development and implementation of ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA). Since the term EbA was adopted by the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in 2010, UN Environment has worked with decision-makers and practitioners from around the world to understand how EbA can best contribute to national adaptation efforts and to support best-practice implementation of EbA measures on the ground. This briefing note highlights UN Environment’s key strengths in relation to EbA and outlines some of UN Environment’s priorities for EbA work going forward while drawing on its extensive network and resources.
