This report is a terminal evaluation of a UN Environment-GEF project implemented between 2012 and 2017. The project objective was “to strengthen the biosafety management system in India with special emphasis on risk assessment and management, handling, transport, packaging and identification of LMOs, socio economic considerations and public awareness, to ensure adequate protection of human health and biodiversity from any potential harm arising from all LMO-related activities”.
