The Africa Regional Workshop On Environmental Disasters, held from 28 to 30 July 2003 at United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Headquarters in Nairobi, provided a forum for interactive dialogue between experts on the management of disasters and environmental emergencies. The present report summarizes the reasons for and the objectives, organization, programme and proceedings of the Workshop.
