2015 NOWPAP ICC was organized on 24-25 September 2015 in Yantai, China. Comprised of a workshop and a beach cleanup, this ICC campaign was organized with the following objectives: to build capacity for effective management of marine litter in the NOWPAP region; to promote the Global Partnership on Marine Litter (GPML) in the region; to promote the International Coastal Cleanup campaigns in the region and to share relevant experience of NOWPAP member states and partners; to strengthen cooperation in the region on dealing with marine litter, including central and local governments, NGOs, academia and industry; to increase public awareness of marine litter issues; to promote the implementation of NOWPAP Regional Action Plan on Marine Litter (RAP MALI).
