This chapter looks at implementation of adaptation by addressing the question: are adaptation actions taking place? It provides one of the first global accounts of implemented adaptation actions, including which hazards they address, who is adapting, how they align with the adaptation priorities in NDCs, whether they target the most vulnerable and whether gender and nature-based solutions are considered. Findings of this analysis are therefore directly relevant for the Global Stocktake and can serve as a baseline for future Adaptation Gap Reports.en_US
