This document has two sections: Faith for Earth Celebrating International Women’s Day and a Year at Your Service. Less than 40% of the 50% of the global population is income earning women. Women are responsible for almost 50-80% of food production, represent more than 50% of the agricultural workforce, and 60% of the world's chronically hungry are women and girls, yet they own less than 10% of the land. Illiterate women are double the number of illiterate men with two-thirds of all children denied school are girls, and 75% of the world's 876 million illiterate adults are women. These facts and much more require our attention to do more and do better to ensure gender equality.en_US
