COBSEA and the Blue Solutions Initiative (GIZ) organized a virtual training on Sustainable Blue Economy Training during 28-30 Sept 2021. Approx. 24 participants from the COBSEA participating countries joined this training, which provided participants a better understanding of a holistic, ecosystem-based definition of the blue economy, an overarching vision of a sustainable blue economy that aligns with the UN SDG Goals, and the scale of transformation required to build a sustainable blue economy. In addition, participants were familiarized with UNEP’s Sustainable Blue Economy Transition Framework, and better equipped to catalyse the transition to a sustainable blue economy within their local, national, or regional contexts.
