The Regional E-waste Monitor for the Western Balkans report was implemented through a joint partnership between the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and the Sustainable Cycles (SCYCLE) Programme under United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). Focusing on 5 countries in the Western Balkans region (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia), this report provides data and facts and, as well, describes and analyses statistics, key-stakeholders, current policies and legislation, technological practices, and societal interdependencies related to e-waste management in the region; it also provides recommendations on how to better cope with the e-waste issue in the Western Balkans region.
