Terminal Evaluation of the UNEP/GEF Project “Ecosystem Approach to Haiti Cote Sud” (GEF ID 5531) (2017-2022).

Evaluation Office of UNEP (2024-03)

This report is a Terminal/Mid-term Evaluation of a UNEP Ecosystem Approach to Haiti Cote Sud project implemented between 2017 and 2022.The project's overall development goal was to increase resilience to climate change risks and decreasing disaster risk using an ecosystem management approach targeting protected areas and fragile ecosystems in the southwestern peninsula of Haiti. The evaluation sought to assess project performance (in terms of relevance, effectiveness and efficiency), and determine outcomes and impacts (actual and potential) stemming from the project, including their sustainability. The evaluation has two primary purposes: (i) to provide evidence of results to meet accountability requirements, and (ii) to promote learning, feedback, and knowledge sharing through results and lessons learned among UNEP, and the relevant agencies of the project participating countries.
