Terminal Evaluation of the UNEP-EU Project Climate Change and Security PIMS ID 01970 (2023-2024)
This report is a Terminal Evaluation of a UNEP Climate Change and Security Project implemented between March 2017 and February 2022. The project's overall development goal was to reduce climate change-related disputes and increase security in fragile states, by making natural resources more resilient to natural and human-induced shocks and stresses, and livelihoods and natural assets less vulnerable to climate change risks. The evaluation sought to assess project performance (in terms of relevance, effectiveness and efficiency), and determine outcomes and impacts (actual and potential) stemming from the project, including their sustainability. The evaluation has two primary purposes: (i) to provide evidence of results to meet accountability requirements, and (ii) to promote learning, feedback, and knowledge sharing through results and lessons learned among UNEP, and the relevant agencies of the project participating countries Nepal and Sudan.
