Description
The National Environment Act Cap.153 Section 5 empowers NEMA as the principal agency in Uganda for the management of the environment and shall coordinate, monitor and supervise all activities in the field of environment. In my five year terms of reference and commitments, while consolidating the achievements so far realized and recognizing the current challenges and emerging environmental issues, I commit myself and NEMA as an organization to re-focus the activities of NEMA to deliver on its mandate. The activities that NEMA has been implementing, and are outside its mandate, will be moved to the relevant Lead Agencies.
