dc.descriptionAccording to the article 26 of the Barcelona Convention, the Contracting Parties shall submit to the Secretariat of the Convention National Reports on the legal, administrative or other measures taken by them for the implementation of the Convention, the Protocols, and the recommendations adopted by their meetings, as well as the effectiveness of these measures and any problems encountered. Based on the National Reports for the period 2002-2003, submitted by the Contracting Parties to the Secretariat of the Barcelona Convention by 30 May 2005, the Secretariat prepared this document, which is a synopsis of the National Reports presented in the form of one consolidated document covering the whole region. Its two main sections deal respectively with the legal and administrative implementation of the Convention and Protocols and the technical implementation of the Protocols.
