dc.descriptionThe United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) initiates GEO assessments and provides overall oversight over the GEO process. The GEO process is undertaken by the Executive director of UNEP in consultation with the Intergovernmental and Multi-stakeholder Advisory Committee (IMAG) and the Committee of Permanent Representatives. Resolution EA.5/3 “Requests the Executive Director, with guidance from the intergovernmental and multi-stakeholder advisory group, to convene an intergovernmental, multi-stakeholder and expert meeting to establish a set of procedures that reflects the objectives and core function of the Global Environment Outlook process outlined above” These draft procedures will be considered by an intergovernmental, multi-stakeholder and expert meeting convened by the Executive Director of UNEP pursuant to Environment Assembly resolution UNEP/EA.5/Res.3.en_US
