Terminal Evaluation of the UNEP Project “Secretariat Services to the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management - PIMS 02005” (2018-2024)
This report is the terminal evaluation of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) project "Secretariat Services to the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management" (PIMS 02005). This project, which is the follow up of the SAICM project implemented between 2006 and 2015, was design to initiate an intersessional process to prepare recommendations regarding the Strategic Approach and the sound management of chemicals and waste beyond 2020. The terminal evaluation was undertaken to assess project performance (in terms of relevance, effectiveness and efficiency), and determine outcomes and impacts (actual and potential) stemming from the project, including their sustainability. The terminal evaluation had two primary purposes: (i) to provide evidence of results to meet accountability requirements, and (ii) to promote operational improvement, learning and knowledge sharing through results and lessons learned among UNEP and project partners and stakeholders.
