dc.description | The 2012 UN Conference on Sustainable Development, known as “Rio+20”, highlighted the international community’s commitment to foster sustainable development. Member States and civil society worked actively in preparing and developing the Conference with the aim of achieving an ambitious outcome that would provide value to the international development agenda. The Conference focused on two themes: the green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication and the institutional framework for sustainable development. The decisions and conclusions on these and other issues resulted in a focused political outcome document - “The Future We Want”- containing clear and practical measures for implementing sustainable development. | |
