This paper highlights the impact of conflict on the livestock trade in Darfur and outlines ways in which that trade can be supported in the future, to benefit livelihoods and the economy in Darfur and nationally. It is based on a research report (UNEP, 2012 ‘On the Hoof: Livestock Trade in Darfur’).
