The present collaborative bibliography provides points of reference for those interested in conservation action or theory, in both richer, more studied countries with extensive plant conservation literatures and poorer countries where little work has been done. In the former, the conservationist can feel lost in a sea of information: the bibliography will serve to pinpoint major published works to examine. In poorer countries, there is often a shortage of knowledge on what has previously been achieved. The bibliography will alert activists to existing references and a concerned effort can then be made to obtain the most relevant literature.
