Validated Terminal Review of the UNEP/GEF Project ‘Conservation of Key, Endemic, Threatened and Economically Valuable Species’ (GEF ID 5352) 2017-2022
This report is a management-led Terminal Review of the UNEP/GEF project COKETES implemented between 2016 and 2022. The project's overall development objective was to develop, implement and disseminate local strategies for conservation and sustainable use of 201 globally significant flora and one globally significant fauna species. The review sought to assess project performance (in terms of relevance, effectiveness and efficiency), and determine outcomes and impacts (actual and potential) stemming from the project, including their sustainability. The review has two primary purposes: (i) to provide evidence of results to meet accountability requirements, and (ii) to promote learning, feedback, and knowledge sharing through results and lessons learned among UNEP, the GEF, MEDD and other the relevant agencies in Madagascar, and the international community of biodiversity conservation.
