Consistent with the overall goal of the UNEP Global Mercury Partnership, the objective of the chlor-alkali partnership area is to significantly minimize and where feasible eliminate global mercury releases to air, water, and land that may occur from chlor-alkali production facilities. Partners include industry and environmental stakeholders, as well as national governments.
