The objective of this study was to document the various pressures and influences which have been
exerted on the Project's study area both from within it and from the larger Lake Turkana region. This will assist in more accurate projection by the IPAL of the long-range, trends and temporary
fluctuations in environmental change as well as in the human and stock populations. In addition it will provide another perspective to the present research undertakings on the ecology of the area.
