Mirex is a white crystalline, odourless solid with a melting point of 485 °C. It is soluble in several organic solvents including tetrahydrofuran (30%), carbon disulfide (18%), chloroform (17%), and benzene (12%), but is 7 practically insoluble in water. It has a vapour pressure of 3x10 mmHgat25 °C.
