UNEP initial quantification of conflict generated debris in Aghdam district, Azerbaijan, is derived from official building footprint data provided by the Ministry of Economy/ State Committee on Property of Azerbaijan along with satellite imagery. Five scenarios were developed to manage the nearly ~3 million tonnes of debris estimated. Scenario 1: No recycling and all debris disposed of at a single designated landfill; Scenario 2: 2. 50% of debris transported to decentralised debris recycling sites spread throughout the district with smaller crushers/screeners and remaining debris disposed of at a single designated landfill; Scenario 3: 50% of debris transported to a single centralised debris recycling site (located at the landfill) and the remaining 50% of debris disposed of at a single designated landfill; Scenario 4: 75% of debris transported to the centralised debris recycling site and the remaining 25% of debris disposed of at a single designated landfill; and, Scenario 5: 75% of debris transported to a centralised debris recycling site at the Aghdam Industrial Park and the remaining 25% of debris disposed of at a single designated landfill.
