This project aims to evaluate the feasibility and challenges for introducing ambient mercury monitoring by gold trap method, which will be included in the monitoring guidance of Minamata Convention, to existing monitoring sites. First, we established a mercury monitoring system at the existing ambient monitoring site of Niigata-Maki Acid Deposition Monitoring station in Japan. Then, the pilot monitoring was conducted there from October 2021 to October 2023.
