Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) – Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all – con rms the importance of water and sanitation in the global political agenda. Building on the relevant Millennium Development Goal, SDG 6 addresses the sustainability of access to water and sanitation by focusing on the quality, availability and management of freshwater resources.
