The Republic of Kenya is located on the Eastern coast of Africa and is bisected by the Equator. It is a land of striking landscapes, ranging from snow-capped Mount Kenya to rich farmlands, barren deserts in the north and tropical sandy beaches on the western Indian Ocean coast and the shores of lakes Turkana and Victoria. Kenya borders Somalia to the North East, Ethiopia and South Sudan to the North, Uganda to the West, Tanzania to the South, and the Indian Ocean to the East.
