dc.description | The present report summarizes the preliminary results of three experiments undertaken in Sri Lanka, the Philippines and Senegal. In addition, several studies have been initiated to determine the feasibility of harnessing renewable sources of energy in rural areas of Indonesia, Somalia and in the Arab Region. Furthermore, UNEP is according high priority to studies of energy supply/demand and patterns of energy consumption in rural areas and also to increasing the efficiency of energy production and use in such areas. | en_US |
