The purpose of this publication is to recommend practices for the prevention of mycotcxins in food, animal feed and their products. It recognizes that effectiveness of preventive and protective practices to be adopted throughout the food chain from the timeof sowing, through cultivating, harvesting and processing to storage and marketing depends on a thorough understanding and rigid control of the various factors involved, if the incidence of known important mycotoxine is to be minimized.
