Description
Greater use of diesel vehicles in the transportation sector creates opportunities to solve certain environmental problems associated with motor vehicles, such as those arising from emissions of carbon monoxide and to a lesser extent hydrocarbons, and offers the potential for reducing energy demand and possibly petroleum imports, but raises concern about public health and welfare owing to increased emissions of particulate matter, smoke and odours.
