Hygiene and sanitation in urban areas is a struggle without respite because of the challenge of the continuous increase in urban dwellers. The increase in population is synonymous with increased household waste. These wastes are also nests of insects, rodents, and reptiles capable of transmitting disease. Note also the unbearable odour caused by rotting garbage affects the daily life of residents. Proper waste management is an effective way to reduce diseases like malaria, diarrhoea and other diseases related to poor sanitation
