The adoption of the Convention for the Protection and Development of the Marine Environment of the Wider Caribbean and its Protocols (Cartagena Convention) in 1983, provides the only comprehensive regional legal framework for the protection of the Wider Caribbean Region’s coastal and marine environment.en_US
