dc.descriptionPursuant to UN General Assembly Resolution 75/326 (“Modalities Resolution”), “all relevant stakeholders, including women, youth, older persons, persons with disabilities, indigenous peoples and local communities, to contribute to the discussions of the international meeting and their preparation and to build momentum for a healthy planet for the prosperity of all”. To this end a series of national and regional stakeholder workshops and consultations will be organized in developed and developing countries and will be designed in cooperation with major groups and all relevant stakeholders to: Ø give voice to and facilitate engagement of as large a number of stakeholders as possible; Ø ensure a bottom-up mapping of key elements and actions needed to safeguard the human environment in the 21st century in the context of each country’s and region’s needs, including on policies and actions required in those economic sectors most critical for sustainable development; Ø review and assess how the human environment can be enhanced to help countries and regions attain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda, with a particular focus on innovative and enhanced means of implementation as well as building and enhancing human capacities.en_US
