dc.description | These guidelines for policy makers apply a lifestyles perspective to the sustainability challenge, using climate change as a focal point and providing policy direction to how the remaining carbon budget can be fairly allocated in order for people to meet their wellbeing needs in a sustainable and equitable manner. These guidelines are based on, and use data and analyses from the report 1.5-Degree Lifestyles: Towards a Fair Consumption Space for All (Akenji et al. 2021). To address the need for rapid reductions, these guidelines look specifically at how to remove harmful and carbon intense consumption options, at how to integrate or scale up low carbon alternatives, while offering fairer access for all. Finally, the objective of these guidelines is to put the sustainable lifestyles approach on the agenda of regional, national and local policy-makers. | en_US |
