This Outlook provides projections for e-waste generation and challenges of managing e-waste in an economically diverse West Asia region. It also provides a stepwise approach for countries to manage e-waste in an environmentally sound manner. E-waste is a source that can be utilised for economic growth, creating new jobs and investment opportunities. Both consumers and producers have a key role in the sustainable and environmentally sound management of e-waste. Few countries in the region are taking action and working toward mitigating e-waste; nonetheless, much more progress is needed. This publication also puts forth recommendations and opportunities for transitioning from a linear economy toward a circular economy to manage e-waste in an environmentally sound manner and utilise e-waste as a source for economic, social, and environmental benefits.en_US
