The Eye on Methane is the methane emissions data platform of the UN Environment Programme’s International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO). Methane is the second most powerful driver of climate change after CO2, with human activities contributing to roughly a third of current warming. Reducing methane emissions presents a significant climate opportunity, provided individuals have the necessary data to act and measure progress. Eye on Methane goes beyond simple emission rates, providing a comprehensive view through density mapping and integrated datasets. This allows users to uncover hidden patterns, understand the bigger picture and drive impactful change.
