dc.descriptionA transformative change in food systems is needed in order to meet the internationally agreed Sustainable Development Goals. The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity for Agriculture and Food (TEEBAgriFood) initiative was developed by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) in response to this need and seeks to achieve positive human livelihood outcomes and biodiversity improvements. The overall programme goals are to measure and mainstream the values of nature in decision-making and policy, to highlight the hidden, and often invisible, contributions of nature to agricultural production, and trade-offs made in land-use decisions, to highlight links of agricultural systems with human health, culture, and other ecosystems at the landscape level, and based on this scientific research, to work with partners and key stakeholders on pathways to implementing reform of national policies and measures for meeting the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.en_US
