This is the report on the status of sustainable development (SD) in Tuvalu. Good progress hasbeen achieved in the pursuit of sustainable development as the country follows the strategies recommended by the international community for small island developing states (SIDS).Because of its unique situation Tuvalu has selectively adopted into its national development strategy (NSDS) strategies that are relevant and appropriate for Tuvalu. The report isintended for presentation by the government of Tuvalu to the Third International Conference on SIDS in Samoa in 2014. Global strategies for sustainable development are provided in many international agreementsand declarations however this report will focus only on Rio +20, Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and the Mauritius Strategy for Implementation (MSI) of the BarbadosProgramme of Action (BPOA). Tuvalu is a signatory and party to these international agreements and has been trying to realize the global dream for SD.
