El GEO Panamá 2004 se elaboró a partir de un proceso participativo, que incorporó los aportes de expertos, políticos e instituciones relacionados con la gestión ambiental en el país, construyendo consensos sobre asuntos y cuestiones prioritarias a través del diálogo. El PNUMA se siente orgulloso de haber colaborado con la Autoridad Nacional del Ambiente en la realización de este Segundo Informe Ambiental de Panamá. El resultado de esta colaboración demuestra que el proyecto GEO, además de permitir la producción de un informe ambiental integral, inaugura un proceso de evaluación ambiental continuo y fortalece capacidades institucionales en el país, que permitirán monitorear los avances en la protección del medio ambiente y la gestión ambiental.
