This report presents a study emphasizing the marine and coastal environments of the Wider Caribbean Region and the implications brought on by climate change. The study has a scope limited to a sailor’s view of the coastline, reefs, passages, harbours, deltas, estuaries, deep waters of the Caribbean Sea, the northeast coast of South America, the Gulf of Mexico and the Florida-Bahamas region of the Ocean. This perspective presents challenges involving meteorology, oceanography, geology, economics, sociology, medicine, law, and ecology.
