Isophorone is a colourless liquid. Its odour has been described as similar to those of peppermint and camphor. It is soluble in water and is miscible in all proportions with aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, ethers, esters, ketones, and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
