Description
The purposes of these guidelines are first to provide general background information useful for integrated land/soil management in mountain ecosystems. Second, the guidelines detail key techniques for integrated management stressing protection, conservation and development as well as methods of planning. The guidelines are intended to be applicable irrespective of global location and prevalent socio-economic situations and systems. In a sense the guidelines may be regarded as a kind of template in which individual users may locate the problems of their own regions and their concerns.
