The following sector summaries show the remarkable progress that has been made to reduce the need for halons, and highlights problem areas where attention needs to be focussed to ensure adequate stocks of halons are available to meet Parties' future needs. For halon 1301, the 2006 Assessment indicates an even greater global inventory or bank of halon 1301 as compared with the 2002 assessment.
