This workshop aimed to achieve the following objectives: - Provide support to the Republic of Armenia in applying the Espoo Convention Protocol on Strategic Environmental Assessment; - Provide the training participants with detailed recommendations on using SEA as an efficient tool to support strategic decision making and public engagement; - Employ a stepwise approach to introduce the participants to the SEA procedures as defined by the SEA Protocol; - Provide the participants with relevant knowledge and skills required to enable them to use SEA independently and develop the national SEA practices; - Train the specialists to act as experts and trainers in the pilot SEA and other training activities planned for 2014-2016 and aiming to support the establishment of the SEA system and practice in Armenia.
