National Workshop on Strengthening the Measure of Progress in Disaster Risk Reduction in Sub-Saharan Africa through the Sendai Framework Monitoring Process and Enhanced Disaster Loss Data will be organized in Lomé, Togo from 8 to 10 April 2025 by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in close collaboration with the Agence Nationale de la Protection Civile (ANPC) and the Institut National de la Statistique et des Études Économiques et Démographiques (INSEED). The event is funded under the 11th European Development Fund’s (EDF11) programme titled “Strengthening Disaster Risk Governance and Recovery Capacities.” The main goal of the national workshop is to enhance the capacity to understand and map disaster-related and climate change statistics at the national level to inform and tailor policies to prioritize resources and build community resilience. This will be achieved by bringing together various stakeholders for hands-on training on priority topics related to disasters and climate change.
