Enhancing the environmental expertise of staff in tertiary institutions in the Asia-Pacific region will facilitate the transition to a more sustainable world. This report provides background information fundamental to the implementation of a UNEP administered project designed to enhance the environmental and related expertise and skills of tertiary level educators in the Asia-Pacific region.
It focuses on the identification of environmental issues of significance to the region and indicates the areas where there is an urgent need to increase human resource capacities.
