Description
The benefits of actions to maintain and enhance carbon stocks for climate change mitigation can be increased by taking into account the relationship between the distributions of carbon, biodiversity, and other factors of relevance to REDD+ planning. Here, we present an updated map of biomass carbon stocks in Ecuador and analyses of the relationships between carbon and biodiversity, Protected Areas, indigenous people’s territories, poverty, human population density, and other factors, including potential pressures on carbon and biodiversity. This report presents the result of spatial analyses to support this planning process.
